What Silo is
Silo PDF (“Silo”, “the app”) is an iOS application that lets you manipulate PDF files on your own device. You download it from the App Store, and it runs locally on your iPhone or iPad.
Your purchase
Silo is free to install. A subset of tools is available without payment. The full toolset is unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase (“Silo Pro”), currently priced at $29.90 USD in the US App Store. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; refunds are handled by Apple and can be requested through your Apple ID purchase history.
Silo Pro:
- Is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
- Is tied to the Apple ID you used to buy it. Restore it on other devices via the “Restore purchase” option in Settings.
- Unlocks all Pro tools shipped in the current major version (v1.x). A future major version may be a separate purchase.
What you can do with Silo
You may use Silo to process any PDF you have the legal right to process. You keep all rights to your own files — we claim nothing over your documents.
You may not use Silo to:
- Circumvent DRM or digital-rights controls on a file you don’t own.
- Redact, alter, or forge documents with the intent to deceive (e.g. tampering with legal records, forging signatures, fraud).
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or repackage Silo itself, except as permitted by applicable law.
What Silo does and doesn’t promise
Silo is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it reliable, but:
- Some PDFs are malformed or contain exotic features. Silo may fail to open or process them correctly.
- Operations like compression, redaction, and OCR are best-effort. You are responsible for verifying the result before relying on it for anything sensitive — especially redaction on scanned documents.
- We will not be liable for any loss of data, revenue, or opportunity arising from your use of the app, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
In plain language: double-check important output, keep a backup of the original, and don’t sue us if redaction misses one instance of a phone number. Sensitive documents deserve sensitive handling.
Updates
We ship updates periodically. Updates may add features, change behaviour, or remove features that aren’t working well. By continuing to use the app after an update, you accept the updated version.
Termination
You can stop using Silo at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to stop distributing the app on the App Store, though any version you’ve already installed will keep working on your device for as long as Apple supports it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
